1) Is Osama bin Laden a force for good:
No. Osama bin Laden spent most of his life plotting the inexcusable murders of civilians for an unachievable political goal. He took the Islamic faith to its most controversial and distorted it to justify actions that violate the teachings of the Qur'an and those of proper human decency.
2) Was Osama bin Laden an effective organizer?
Relatively speaking. While most of Al-Qaeda works out of the individual cells, he created an organization with a unified approach spread across various continents. He attracted young and impressionable people to his cause. Most indicative of his organizational skills was the planning necessary for 9-11.
