Diderot's Encyclopaedia was used to spread knowledge and true facts about science and nature. In the process he criticised religion and showed evidence of how religious scriptures are easily false.

He is the founder of the Encyclopaedia, the large book of knowledge that we still use to this day.

He campaigned for the abolishment of capital punishment because the French government at the time of his life was misusing the capital punishment system by executing innocent protesters. But his Encyclopaedia was not used as a weapon in his campaign.
