A:Some of the stories about Elisha portray him as a good and generous man. In one example, so that a widow's sons would not be taken into slavery to pay her debts, Elisha made a pot of oil into one that never emptied, no matter how much was poured from it (2 Kings 4:3-7). The problem with this is that there is an earlier story in which his predecessor, Elijah, converted an ordinary cake into one that never grew smaller as it was eaten. When a story of miracles appears to be the retelling of another story attributing a similar to an earlier prophet, serious doubts must be raised as to the truth of the story.

An alternative view of Elisha is found in a miraculous story (2 Kings 2:23-24) that does no credit either to Elisha or his God. He cursed in the name of God 42 little children who had laughed at his bald head, whereupon the children were mauled by wild bears. In fairness, if a story that redounds to the credit of Elisha is subject to serious doubt, then so must one that is not to his credit. Looking behind all these legendary miracles, we know too little about Elisha to judge his real character.

Elisha, as a Prophet of God to be His chosen messenger on Earth at that time and those places, was a man who feared God and obeyed His voice. He continued in the Elijah-role as was God's desire. All his acts (note the Scripture never calls them miracles or magic) were approved by or ordered by God to do as with any of the Prophets - it is the will of God and not the man. In this sense then as God is good and Elisha was His servant, then you may say that he was a good person.
