I don:t think so. She was seldom, but one photo exists- photographed without some form of headgear, not just flight helmets and stuff. She worked for a news magazine and was photographed wearing a hat indoors at her typewriter- very unusual- photos (there is ONE) in a book about Quimby- amply illustrated) that shows her sans hat- and very attractive billowing hair. She looked Italian, maybe was half-Italian on her mother;s side. The even more daunting theory is that she was not bald but the hats 9and there were many) hid her Third Eye in the back-center of her head- which may have worked like a Quattro ( ESP) amplifier. she was, as is stated, almost never seen without a hat. Must be some reason. oddly Hatty- a nickname for Harriet-not specificaly for Her, has Hat in the word.
Her full name is Harriet Quimby.
