"Vote fraud " is a crime and in the US innocence is assumed until guilt is proven. Indeed there were suspicions of vote fraud , particularly in Cook County, IL , and the election was close enough for people to speculate that fraud swung the election to Kennedy, but few, if any, reliable historians affirm that Kennedy was elected by fraud. There were similar suspicions raised in the 2000 election when Bush defeated Gore and there was a huge controversy concerning the credentials of the electors when Hayes was elected in 1876.
No US president was elected unanimously by popular vote. The only president elected unanimously by the electoral college was George Washington (There was no popular vote in this election).
Andrew Jackson was the only man who won the popular vote without being elected and later was elected president. Samuel Tilden and Al Gore won the popular vote but never became president.
George Washington
George W. Bush was the only president elected to two terms with less than 50 percent of the popular vote.
Electors are elected by popular vote but the president is elected by the electoral college. A president candidate can win the popular vote and still not win if he doesn't win the electoral college.
Well, with the elected president comes the vice president.__________________As a footnote, neither the president nor the vice president is nationally elected. The people vote for electors in the presidential election.

The US president is elected if they win the vote of the Electoral College.
The Electoral College votes cannot be challenged. They are appointed by their own State to vote for the State, but when elected they can vote any way they want. They do not have to follow the vote of the people of their State. The President is the only one elected this way. To challenge an elected President it can only be done through Constitutional means, such as treason, or unqualified to hold the office of President of the United States of America.
He wasn't. Only twice. He thought of running four a third term, but didn't. He also won the popular vote the first time but did not have a majority of the electoral vote. The only president elected four times was Franklin Roosevelt.
The president of the United States is elected by electoral vote.
People vote for the president. If he/she (when there is a she) gets the most votes, they are elected president. Then they have to swore in and all that stuff.
