Six provinces are east of Manitoba. From west to east they are Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador.

There are 14 seats for Manitoba members of the House of Commons. Upon the resignation of Ms. Judy Wasylicia-Leis (of the New Democratic Party of Canada), one seat is vacant for which a by-election has not been held. As such, there are 13 members representing Manitoba in the House of Commons.

Newfoundland is pronounced like the word "understand." The middle syllable ("found") is pronounced "f'n" and the major accent is on the final syllable. Likewise, the major accent in Labrador is on the final syllable. Say this a few times and you'll get the picture: "Understand Newfoundland." (Of course, no one but a Newfoundlander can truly understand Newfoundland.)
