The answer to this question depends on the time in his singing career that you are asking about. He began singing with his brothers in a group called the Jackson 5. They made many records and albums through the years. As he grew older he began to branch out alone. Off and on he sang with others including his sister on the Scream album and his song We Are the World was with many people adding to the song. So, I don't think you can say he sang solo as his primary singing style.
