William Blake was considered a mad man of his time, and neglected by the people of his time. He had a wild imagination, and was very unique.

- He never traveled a day out of his home town (London, England)

- He claimed to see angels and ghosts

- He called himself "the love prince" and believed in open relationships. He though everyone should be loved equally, and even though he was married to his wife, Catherine, he made love to various other women and often suggested odd sexual behavior.

- He made up his own religion - all his work was based upon his religious beliefs

William Blake was a visionary artist and poet known for his mystical and symbolic works. While he did have some unconventional beliefs and behaviors, he was not considered a "loon" but rather a creative genius ahead of his time.
