The arrival of the Spanish very negatively affected the lives of the native Central Americans. The Spanish brought horses and guns -- weapons that the natives had no chance against. Not only that, but the Spanish brought diseases that the Natives had never in their lives seen, and therefore could not battle.Hernando Cortes was one major notable person in the decline of the Native people. The Natives thought that he was a god, and so he used this to his advantage. By the time that the natives realized that he was an enemy, he was already too well advanced in his destruction to be stopped. The Aztec civilization was completely destroyed due to this.
The arrival of Spanish invaders affected the indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica greatly because a lot of them died and the Spanish took a lot of their stuff such as land and gold. Also, the natives lost their religion and traditions and were forced to work as slaves for the Spanish.
