Yes, although he did not make it all the way back home. He died in the philippean Islands b/c of a poisiined arrow in his foot and an Spear through his heart(the natives killed him) 18 of his crew members made it back to Spain here for giving him the reconishin of being the first explorer to go all atound the world. ---> hope it helped ( :

Enrique was brought to Europe from the Philippines and became Magellan's slave. he went on the voyage around the world with them, and when Magellan died in the Philippines after going around South America, Enrique jumped ship and swam to an island in the Philippines, roughly the same place he lived before he was a slave. However, people think that Magellan was the first, even though he died before they made it, because he led the voyage.

Magellan didn't complete the circumnavigation because he died before the battle of Mactan in Pre colonial Philippines and Elcano continued the voyage back to Spain with Victoria (the only surviving ship of 5 from Magellan's expedition)
