Guru Nanak dev ji was born in a hindu family, however he did not follow hindu religion, he contrasted most of their beliefs such as castes or worshiping different gods he believed god is only one. THERE IS ONLY ONE CREATOR! IK OH ONKAAR. Guru Nanak dev ji was the foundation of sikhi, he did not believe in hindu religion. Especially some acts such as Sati ( burning women alive with her husband if he died) fasting, watering the sun, karva chauth.
