The last people to be enlisted for National Service in the UK were signed up in November 1960 and discharged in May 1963
Because, by the time they reached the minimum age to be called up (18 for men, 20 for women) - Conscription in the UK had ended.

Conscripts were people called up by the Government to serve a short period in the armed forces (known as National Service) - or for the duration in wartime. Conscription is no longer used in Britain.

A Google search does not turn up a pet transportation service in Scotland called Crown Pets.
Check when is your National Service intake, then quickly enroll to any undergraduate or foundation course in any private college. Used your trial exam result if SPM is not available. Once you enroll you call their office to inform them you are unable to make it for National Service due to your enrollment. Make a note about the conversation just in case. So negotiate with the Govt that you will do your National Service when you complete your course. So by then it be based on your luck, Usually they wont follow up and so by the time you complete your course they have forgotten about you. However if you are unlucky they will call you up and you have to go.
