Why where children put in concentration camps?

Same reason as adults they were -Jews -Non aryan racial etc.. but if the Children is unfit to work and they didnt have a twin, they would be shot to death or gased to death or even brutally assulted to death or raped then killed so even if you was a child or a adult and you was sent to the camps, your likely to die

What are camps where Jews were sent in world war 2?

Kinder is German for children. These were concentration camps specially for children. Originally, a child had to be at least 12 to be sent to such a camp, but the minimum age was repeatedly lowered. The older girls were expected to look after the really young children. However, there was insufficient food and many starved to death.

What did the boys and girls do at the concentration camps?

It all depended on what type of concentration camp they were assigned to. Some were work camps, so both the women and children would have been forced to work very long hours, with harsh treatment. However, some of these camps were death camps, which meant if a woman or child was sent there, they would be killed.

What happened to the Jewish children Hitler wanted to ship off?

They went into hiding in different countries, but the all tried to get away from Germany. The Nazis would send children and all Jews to concentration camps when they found them. The most famous Jewish child from WW2 is Anne Frank wrote a diary during her time in hiding and also at Auschwitz concentration camp. At concentration camps the Germans would make people build things like traintracks, and if they weren't any use, then they would take them into gas chambers. Horridly they told the Jews they were showers. Answer by Mia Woodward

Can kids at the concentration camp go outside?

the simple answer is: yes. basically the only childern that were allowed were those in the family camps or the gypsy camp, where they were allowed to walk around their own camps freely. but the problems with the question go a bit further. Though small childern were not generally allowed, if we were using deffinitions of the time, one was a child until the age of 21 or 25 depending upon where you were. Children as young as 14 could look able-bodied enough to seem capable of work, as such they were allowed to live, but were treated as an adult and subject to the same treatment.

What was it like living in concenration camps?

From a child's perspective concentration camps must have been very bad. They couldn't figure out where they were or why. There were almost no children in concentration camps. The exception being the Gypsy family camps were people were held for experimentation. The vast majority of children were sent to extermination camps, there were of course those who were big enough to pass for adults.
