Why did rolling thunder happen?

Rolling Thunder was a military campaign conducted by the United States during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968, aimed at applying pressure on North Vietnam and supporting the South Vietnamese government. The operation sought to destroy North Vietnam's war capability and diminish its will to fight by targeting infrastructure, supply routes, and military installations. The strategy was also intended to boost morale in South Vietnam and demonstrate U.S. commitment to the conflict. Ultimately, Rolling Thunder faced criticism for its limited effectiveness and the heavy civilian casualties it caused.

Korean war is a limited war?

Limited to the use of conventional weapons only; NO NUKES. Limited to fighting only in South Vietnam on the ground; Limited to bombing North Vietnam, but no ground fighting (no invasion). Korea was also a limited war. Limited conventional weapons only; NO NUKES. However, North Korea was invaded by ground forces; and Red China entered the war. Consequently, we didn't invade North VIETNAM for that war, because we didn't want a repeat of a Red Chinese entry into the war.

Was there censorship in the Vietnam War?

Yes, military censorship existed in the Vietnam War. Military censorship helps hide important military information from becoming exposed to the enemy. Military information includes, but is not limited to, an ambush, night attack, or invasion. During the Second World War, censorship did not exist, though fortunately, the presence of the world's first atomic bomb was detected neither before nor after the bomb's creation. The Vietnam War was the first war to have censorship.

When American and allied troops left South Vietnam in the spring of 1973, every province in the country was under local control without North Vietnamese Communist influence. It was only two years AFTER the U.S. military left that South Vietnam fell to North Vietnamese forces.
