What was the devil in music?

you have to specify which devil you are talking about. you could be talking about satan, lucifer, or any fallen angels that are in hell. for the sake of arguement, i will assume that you are talking about lucifer.

as far as i know, yes. as far as i know, he was the angel of music, which means that all music is the work of the devil. however, i have not read The Bible front to back, so i cannot say one way or another with absolute certainty. I am only basing it off of what other people that have read the bible have said.

OH MY! The person who answered this question should not have. Satan/Lucifer...the same. However, Lucifer is the name he was referred to as in heaven. Satan is a Hebrew name which means adversary. He has been referred to as the angel of music in Ezekiel 28:13/14 and in Isaiah 14: 9-14. Let me say that Most High is the Creator of all. All music is NOT evil. It is used to worship Yah in the heavens. If you research the scriptures you will find that Lucifers body encompassed actual musical like instruments of sound (Tambourine and wind instruments). Satan does have a huge influence on most of the music that we here, music that does not glorify God, but sex, drugs, money, etc,. Not all secular music is evil. However, we must be able to discern. Pray and ask for Wisdom to do so. Guard our children.

The passage from Ezekiel is "The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created,". To interpret that to mean that the devil is the angel of music is foolish.

Ezekiel 28:13...the workmanship of your settings & sockets was in you. If you study these two words "settings" & "sockets" it means tambourines or flutes. In other words, when he moved or spoke, he made music. He was the worship leader of Heaven.

I do not think the Bible says anything about the devil being "the minister of music" in heaven (as many say it). They usually go to Ezekiel 28:12-19 that speaks to king of Tyre. It does seem to have a double reference referring to the devil as well. But I think it is reading way to much into the text to assert this with any certainty at all. Beware of assertions that are not based on clear Scripture.

Yes, The bible places Lucifer around the very throne of The Living God. Lucifer was the angel that covered while also having what it appears to be built in instruments for music and song
