Yes. Mark was an eye-witness to the events of Jesus's time.
he was around when Jesus was alive
If you refer to the writers of the Gospels in the New Testament, then the answer is Yes, Probably. The books of Matthew and John were written by two of Jesus' disciples. Luke was a companion of the Apostle Paul's and so was probably old enough to have been around when Jesus was alive, though most certainly they never met (Luke did not live in Israel). Mark most likely was fairly young when he became a companion of Peter and Paul, so may have been born after Jesus' ascension, although there's no way to know for sure. Some traditions equate Mark with the servant that runs out of his clothes when a soldier grabs him at Jesus' arrest. In any case, Mark is fairly prevalent shortly after Jesus' ascension (within 15 years certainly), so, whomever he was for sure, he most likely was alive during Jesus' ministry and may have seen him on occasion.
Jesus appears to the disciples after his resurrection, showing himself to them in physical form to prove he is alive. This occurs in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
No, Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, was not alive when Jesus was crucified.
In terms of His incarnated existence on earth, Jesus was alive from around 4 BC to 33 AD. In total terms, considering who He really is He has always existed and so His age is infinite.
