First of all the man"s name was Nelson Eddy ( sounds like it is backwards, doesnt"t it) It has been so argued the thirties operatic and musical comedy singer-actor, well, may have been Gay. He didn not seem to be a real He-Man. I have heard this argued.

It is widely believed that Nelson Eddy was gay, although he never publicly acknowledged his sexual orientation due to the social stigma at the time. However, he had relationships with men and was often rumored to have been involved romantically with his frequent co-star, Jeanette MacDonald.

No. He was in love with Jeanette MacDonald.

Sorry. Eddy was not only gay, he was notoriously gay -- a well known and spoken about fact within the Hollywood community at the time. Eddy was seen in gay bath houses in NYC, (Darwin Porter, "The Secret Life of Humphrey Bogart, page 87) and Loella Parsons often chided fans who thought he was a womanizer: : "The big laugh in Hollywood these days is Nelson Eddy's feminine pursuers... Come on, Mr. Eddy, even the hinterlands are wise to you." Quoted by William J. Mann, Behind the Screen, p. 154.
