The wedding wasn't an official state function, no heads of state were invited only Commonwealth leaders were . If Prince William was next in line to the throne instead of Prince Charles it would have been a state event and the Obama's would probably have received an invitation.
Sadly, he's not invited. I thought he was going to be but it's not my decision!

He wasn't invited. In general, no chief executives were invited. [N.b., Ronald Reagan wasn't invited to Charles' and Diana's wedding, either.]
Ronald Regan was more popular with the Royals than the Obamas. England is still angry that the USA took it to war with Iraq (under George W. Bush in 2003). But George H.W. Bush was invited to the wedding. The above is not true. Charles and Diana's wedding was a state occasion and so other heads of state were invited. William is not yet Prince of Wales and his wedding was not a state event, it was private.
Barack Obama did not give Chelsea Clinton a wedding present. Barack Obama was not even invited.

If it truly did, there are three possible causes: a) it brought tourists to London, who might otherwise have gone to New York. b) currently, the British Royal family has a higher approval rating (64%) among US citizens than President Obama (45%). c) the Obamas reportedly felt snubbed that they were not invited, in contrast to the Reagans who were invited to the wedding of William's parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana (although President Reagan was still recovering from the assassination attempt, so Mrs Reagan came alone).
It will be (as appears on the invite) Mr. B Obama. Hope it helped (by Jamieson)
