the Fenians were a Nationalist group
Fenian Rising happened in 1867.
The Fenian rising of 1867 was a plot drawn up by the secret organization, the IRB, to try and get Ireland up in arms and revolt against the British colonization. Although it failed miserably due to poor timing, lack of weapons and training, and informers who had crippled any attempt at a successful rising before anything happened.
The Fenians, an Irish nationalist group, aimed to liberate Ireland from British rule and sought support from Irish communities in British North America (BNA). Their raids into Canada in the 1860s highlighted the vulnerabilities of BNA colonies and the potential threat posed by external forces. This prompted leaders in BNA to recognize the need for greater unity and cooperation among the colonies for mutual defense, ultimately contributing to the push for Confederation in 1867. Thus, the Fenian activities inadvertently galvanized support for the union among the BNA colonies.
In 1867 it would have been worth 3 cents (hence the Roman numeral III). Today it's value is dependent on its condition but prices start at around $15 rising to $5000 or more if it is in mint condition. Independent evaluation would be the best advice.
