Treaty of Versailles!
USA did not reject treaty of Versailles. After the elections of 1918 US senate was controlled by Republican Party. However, even the party remained divided over Treaty of Versailles and it was not possible to gain two third majority in senate for ratification of the treaty. That is the reason why USA did not ratify the treaty despite being a pivotal force behind its passage.
The U.S. should have ratified the treaty of versailles because if it did, then maybe we could have helped the league of nations pervent WWII

The Treaty of Versailles, 1919--
Yes, but the US signed another treaty with Germany a few years later.
The treaty of Versailles put us into world War 2. That is because it caused a big struggle in Germany and they wanted revenge then.
The United States rejected the Treaty of Versailles because they did not want to punish Germany that harshly. The U.S. felt that the treaty was punishing Germany the wrong way and felt that Germany would respond back. The treaty was made in a way that Germany would have no choice but to fight the treaty and that is a major reason for World War 2. By the U.S. not signing the treaty, they were not immediately involved in World War 2.
