Was the crash in Roswell real?

No. What "crashed" was probably a film cache from a spy satellite or high altitude balloon. It was only a "UFO" to those who were not informed about what had actually come down out of the sky. To those who knew, it was not an "Unidentified Flying Object."

Since 1947 was well before satellites, that means it was a balloon. Specifically, Project MOGUL's Flight # 4 which was tracked to within a few miles of the "crash" site.

MOGUL was top secret (a spy balloon prototype), so the AAF used the cover story of a weather balloon. Actually, the balloon used in MOGUL was an off-the-shelf weather balloon, so it wasn't even a lie. The secret part was the instrument package, which was not photographed in General Ramey's office, as the rest of the debris was.

There is significant eyewitness testimony, but much was obtained well after the incident. There is no existing physical proof.

Nothing was found other than the foil paper, balsa sticks, and balloon rubber of the Project MOGUL test prototype that crashed on the ranch. It is fun to pretend there are aliens, but so far, there is not a shred of proof. Someone has to be the first form of intelligent life in the universe, and there is no reason to assume it isn't us.

No. The US Government has show itself, time and again, of being incapable of keeping real secrets. Since nobody has leaked the film and all the so-called Roswell secrets, then there wasn't anything there.
