Was the devil really that wrong All he did was not love humans?

Biblical answer: He called into question God's very character and right to rule over his creation. He didn't think a human would ever remain faithful to God, hence he must have thought God made a mistake in creating them. To question God, and claim that he made a mistake was an attack on his sovereignty, because if God could make a mistake, or even lie about something, than we shouldn't have to follow him because that would make God imperfect. Hence, he tempted humans with the desire to choose for themselves what is right and what is wrong.

According to The Bible, he is responsible for the rebellion that led to the human condition being what it is today... full of wickedness, pain and suffering, greed, and rampant pursuit of physical pleasures.

It took God sending his only begotten-son to Earth as a human in order to prove that a human could indeed, live a life completely devoted to God despite severe physical sufferings and temptations. It has taken several thousands of years to prove that humans are not better off without God.

Looking at humankind from the eyes of an angel who was very powerful, one could see why he might have doubted the creation, but faith in God would have kept that doubt in check. Instead he openly rebelled against God, turned other spirit creatures away (angels that turned into demons), while at the same time misleading the far majority of the world in an attempt to take down as many as he can with himself. These are all proclamations of judgment against the devil written in the Bible.
