The Emancipation Proclamation became a turning point in the Civil War because it gave the North what it wanted. The North wanted to free the slaves and do away with slavery.
it freed slaves but most of them were not freed right away. almost 20.000 slaves were freed right away. union must become war for freedom. it declared only those slaves not under union control.
I would believe the emancipation proclamation is important for the north because of its factories. The loss of enslaved workers would hurt the south and would turn the british away from the south.
Contrary to popular belief, the Emancipation Proclamation's goal was not really to free slaves. It stated that all slaves in the 10 rebelling states were free. You see the problem here? With no control over the Confederacy, the Emancipation Proclamation had little effect on the slaves in the South. The Proclamation made freeing slaves an explicit goal of the Union war effort, and was a step towards outlawing slavery and conferring full citizenship upon ex-slaves.
None. The emancipation proclamation said that it freed the slaves in the south but what if someone far away from you said they wanted you to mail your life savings to them or else they would pitch a fit would you do it?
It helped the slaves be free. Most of them had freedom. Not in all states, though, but for those that were, they left and went to do the things that were aproved to do. Most Black slaves weren't able to attend to the Army forces, only whites, however, most went into it because they could.

Gradual Emancipation was a way to slowly do away with slavery.
It worked in that it provided a symbolic gesture. As written, it applied only to those regions that were AT THAT TIME in rebellion against the Union. If they were in rebellion, they were not going to what the Union government told them to do. Slavery was not outlawed until the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was enacted in December 1865- about 2 years after the proclamation, and 8 months after Lincoln was dead.
it took away freedom from the french by assimilating them
