Yes they were. The purpose of Christs teachings were to have the people believe in Him and His Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit was sent to testify of the thruth which Jesus taught. Though Christ taught many truths , it is the Holy Spirit who is the greater teacher, for it is by the same Spirit ye shall know for a surity the truth of all things. The one teaches to your ears and understanding, while the other teaches to your heart.
