The book "The Tourist" is an espionage thriller written by Olen Steinhauer. Published in 2009 it became a New York Times Bestseller. The movie staring Angelina Jolie appears to be based on the Patricia Cornwell character Kay Scarpetta, the central character in many of her books. Very confusing and irritating to readers of Steinhauer to have the title of his recent book used for the title of an unrelated story with completely different characters.
