It is a negative effect. While it might be a neat invention to some, it is going to end up destructive and causing a lot of major issues.
Nuclear weapons serve as a deterrent. One country will be less likely to attack another that it knows has nuclear capability because of the destruction that could be wrought by nuclear weapons. This theory is called MAD or Mutually Assured Destruction, meaning that both sides would destroy each other so utterly by going to war that peace (even bitter cold peace) is the only viable option. Biological and Chemical weapons, which are also called weapons of mass destruction, do not have this deterrent effect.
Yes. They built Nuclear Weapons and showed the full effect. Surprisingly the Soviet Union won building the "Ivan" in the Arctic circle. But there was a little fighting and an attempt to actually launch nuclear missiles! This was in Cuba. Thats where the 'Cuban Missible Crisis' came from.
The use of a nuclear weapon on a country would be considered devestating, dependant on the payload and method of delivery of the nuclear device. It can destroy cities, and make the land infertile for many years afterwards please look towards Nagasaki and Hiroshima for more information. The "effect" of nuclear weapons on a country would depend on what your perspective is: there is something called MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) of which the cold war is an example, where the development of a nuclear arsenal by one country (USSR) was profilgate in the development of a nuclear arsenal in another country (USA) this happened in many countries. Currently the body which is responsible for monitoring nuclear arsenals is called the IAEA (Internationl Atomic Energy Agency)
The idea of a Nuclear War between both Soviet Russia and the USA. A term called M.A.D. was developed, saying that if one nation launched its nuclear weapons, the other country will soon launch theirs shortly after, ultimately destroying the world in a nuclear war.
Modernity can have either a positive of negative effect on a persons moral depending on the person and the situation. Example of Positive Moral Boost: During war or a battle of some sort, troops with better and more modernised weapons, tactics and equipment will gain a moral boost with the knowledge that, their more modernised weapons and tactics will overpower and/or defeat the less modernised or otherwised obsolete weapons and tactics of the enemy. Example of Negative Moral Boost: As a person ages past a certain point they lose the ability to learn as quickly as they used to, so as newer and more modernised versions of computers and other items come out and are released to the public for consumption, the older person might not understand the newer version/model as quickly or they just might not want to because they are mentally/emotionally attached to the older version. This can have a negative effect on a person's moral due to depression or sadness that they can't use the newer model and/or their age may be catching up to them.
