Not really. It is just straight fiction. A mystery usually has something that the reader has to figure out, but in Charlotte's Web, the reader knows what is going on the whole time... except maybe that Charlotte has to die. Even then though, a mystery would give you clues and collect evidence. Charlotte's Web is just a story... a touching story... of friendship and survival. But not a mystery.

No, Charlotte's Web, the film or the book, is not true. E.B. White could have possibly gotten the idea for the story from his earlier publication, Death of a Pig, in which he accounts how he failed to save a sick pig. White could have written Charlotte's Web just so that the pig survived.
