NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
California.
No. I was at several Licoln Mercury dealers 1977 to 1979 and did in fact see a Continental Mark V Convertible. On the rear fenders were the script St. Tropez. These were made by aftermarket conversion shops such as AHA or American Custom Coach. I remember the window price tag for the 1978 Mark V convertible at $35,000. An absolute fortune at the time. On Ebay motors these show up from time-to-time usually for $12,000 to $20,000.
A Factory Sample was created on 1978-10-11.

they are the very same truck, the "Ranger" in 1978 was a trim package option, the exact specifics of what it added or didnt add to the truck i have not found but i do know its a trim package, much like the newer xlt or lariat, also in 1978 you have the "camper special" as well as other options.
