Senator Frank Lauman, Ohio, was born in Kentucky in 1840. He moved to Ohio with his parents when he was a young boy. He enlisted in Company G, First Ohio Infantry, on April 17, 1861. He was wounded at Vienna, which incapacitated him for further service, and he was discharged and returned home. He served as Treasurer of Morgan Township before his election to the Senate.
