Not strictly speaking a scandal, but producing and singing a very questionable song- Honey. Okay it is about his terminally ill or injured wife or girl friend. He was with her two years before the end. It appears the girl was a blonde and was subject to mood cycles. It is not stated exactly how she dies- but her death is keystone ( maybe gravestone a better word- to the song). Hints are dropped about an automobile accident- she did not die on the scene but lived for some time- evidentally succumbing in her bed while her man was at work and only found out about it when he got home.( he knew about the accident as the song clearly exposits) ( she wrecked the car..) The song is Tragedy in, pardon the analogy- Overdrive. I am not at all surprised it may have been banned in some areas or on some stations. Oddly it came out just about a year after we lost Jayne Mansfield to an automobile crash.
