The birth of Jesus is reported in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. However, Matthew was written during the 80s of the first century, while Luke was written around the end of the first century, both long after the birth of Jesus. The authors could not have known the parents of Jesus and were almost certainly born after the time of the crucifixion. This explains the considerable disparities between the two accounts. There is no reason to consider that either account is more accurate than the other, so we can not say that we have an actual record of the birth of Jesus Christ.
