Oil was not yest used in Titanic's time. Her fuel was solid coal.
But oil was not long off. It was used for newer vessels but nothing could be converted during wartime (1914-18). After the war, all vessels were converted to oil.

The Exxon-Valdez is an oil tanker. One of the storage compartments leaked oil when the tanker hit an underwater iceberg. The tanker did not sink, and crew members were evacuated. I could not find out exactly how many were aboard the tanker when the accident occurred but I think it was around 5 to 10 in total.
the last oil spill was the oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico
It appears unlikely the oil spill will affect the eastern coast of Florida. I am not saying that it is impossible, as there is no such thing as 100% certainty with oil spill forecasts. The oil has in the past 68 days not entered the loop current. This has kept the oil in the gulf. Oil in time degrades and disperses, to the point were the concentration is nearly undetectable.
