It depends on the type of sport you're playing, and the weather conditions. On a very hot day where the heat index is at a dangerous level, and where you are sweating well above normal, Gatorade might be a decent choice. Sports involving padding/helmets and hot weather certainly warrant consideration of Gatorade.
The idea of Gatorade hydrating you any better than water is a complete myth. Gatorade contains electrolytes, which water doesn't, to help aid your basic muscular functions in extreme conditions. But it isn't absorbed into your system any better or more quickly than water is. This is a very common misconception that has been drilled into our heads by Gatorade's marketing campaign.
The amount of sugar in the drink is worrisome, however. I recommend cutting Gatorade in 2 with water.
90% of athletes should just stick to water. And drinking Gatorade while not playing a sport is completely unnecessary!
GATORADE may taste better than water but if you are doing a large amount of sport i would recommend water for these reasons 1) water is cheaper that Gatorade 2) It has no sugar unlike Gatorade so you will put on no calories 3) water can come from a tap at the gym if you run out of Gatorade that's is unless you know of a Gatorade fountain?
When I deployed, we were recommended to drink twice as much water to the amount of Gatorade we drank. Gatorade does have electrolytes your body needs and such, but also a lot of stuff you don't need.
well what has more sugar, and calories. Gatorade does, water is better
Gatorade taste better and has less frutose corn syrup. Go gatorade
water is WAY more healthier!
if you drink a lot of water,
then you loose a lot of weight!
It depends on which you like better. I don't like gatorade, so I would rather drink water. Neither is really better though.
water, it is all natural.
Gatorade
Neither, water is!
Well you must state what you mean by "which works better." works better at what? well i think this is what you're talking about. Gatorade is better for a sport but water is much better for a sport or anything. You should just drink water, of course you can drink gatorade, its not that bad for you but don't drink it to much.
No. Water is usually the best thing to drink. One should only drink Gatorade after at least an hour of physical activity, but water is still the best thing for you.
Yes gatorade is better than coke
Gatorade
Gatorade
For series 02 (normal Gatorade) it's about 96 percent water and the rest is additives like sodium (AKA electrolytes), sugar, flavoring, color, etc. electrolytes is why Gatorade is better than water for athletic people.
Gatorade
By better, I assume that you mean 'nutritionally better' rather than better tasting. Gatorade is better for you as it is not as acidic and is based upon the chemistry of sweat - one of your natural body fluids. Thus it would be better for both re-hydration and your overall health, however; there is still a lot of sugar in Gatorade so remember than it is not ideal. The best thing for you to drink would be water.
Gatorade has quicker acting hydrents than water.
he drank Gatorade and water he was a bigger fan of water though
After exercise, especially after intense exercise, you sweat and lose electrolytes, as well as water. Drinking water plain will replenish and hydrate you, but not replace electrolytes. Drinking Gatorade or another "sports drink" will both hydrate you and replenish electrolytes. However, Gatorade and other sports drinks often contain a lot of sugar and calories, so if you are watching either of those, drink Gatorade in moderation.
