How did Gatorade start?

User Avatar
Researchers from the University of Florida working with the athletic department came up with an electrolyte drink that would help rehydrate athletes better than water. Because the mascot of U of F is the Gator, they called the drink Gatorade. it is possible that they determined that the name of the drink should be Gator-ade, perhaps as a play on the drink name lemonade (lemon being the first flavor developed), and a pun on the word aid and suffix-ade.

It depends on the cause of the headache, but often times, yes. Many headaches, even when we are not thirsty, are caused by dehydration. Gatorade helps to rehydrate and restore electrolytes to a normal level.
Asked in Gatorade

Can Gatorade be dangerous for you?

User Avatar
Only if you try to: swallow the whole bottle, dose it with stupid drugs, attack wild bears with it, use it instead of a parachute, pour it all over yourself and then lie next to a wasp nest, pretend it's a gun and hold up a bank with it, or throw it high in the air and when it comes down head it. However, just drink it in the normal way and you'll be fine.
