I have had this happen 4 times to me on one truck! What you have to do is send the drive-line out WITH THE PARK BRAKE DRUM ATTACHED as well and get it balanced. I sent just the d-line out for balancing and it happened again!!. So we sent the parking brake drum along with the d-line and haven't seen truck sense. Trust me been their done that. Let me guess the engine is a gasoline powered 5.7L Chevy 350?? Ya it is!
Hope this helps. Good luck.
5w-30 is the only thing you can use in an Isuzu manual transmission. The way it is designed, if you use 80-90w gear oil, it will burn up the top half of the tranny and the same for the transfer case :)
The best way to confirm the type of transmission fluid to use in a 1989 Isuzu pick up is to refer to the owner manual. A retailer who sells the transmission fluid will be able to advise the correct purchase.
== == == == There isn't one! Nor is there a way for you to check the level yourself- you must have a mechanic to do it.
There is NO WAY possible
The 2001 Rodeo has a sealed transmission. The only way to change it is to pump out the old fluid and refill it via the route. This is not for the weekend mechanic and I suggest that you have a dealer do it.
you can't it is a sealed unit. will never have another vehicle with a sealed trans. only way is to have it serviced.
The way to check the transmission fluid level is you run the vehicle in park until operating temp. When operating temperature is reached then there is a plug in the transmission pan pull out just the middle of it to check fluid.

there is a drain plug and a fill plug on the underside of the transmission. you need to use the fill plug. You can not fill the transmission fluid or check the level, any other way.(it is a ridiculous design, i know.....) go to autozone.com look under Isuzu repair info, then choose the year and choose "trooper".then look under "fluids" the info will be there.
Spline goes into transmission or transfer case.
Turn your wheels heal toward the curb, set the parking brake. This way, if the brake fails and transmission slips it will not roll into traffic.
1992 - 2002 Isuzu Troopers have the GM 4L30E transmission. There is no dipstick. There is no fill tube. The only way to add fluid or check the fluid level of the transmission is through the fill plug in the transmission pan. The transmission fill plug is situated above the fluid level of the "sump" area of the pan. Add fluid by pumping it into the fill plug and let any excess drain out. You'll know it's topped off when the fluid stops pouring out.
