Speckles, freckles, dots.
Freckles are reddish brown or rust colored speckles on the skin- typical of people with red hair and fair skin.
The term freckle originated from an outcast of a royal kingdom in eastern Scotland. This "outcast" of social activity scared the people of the kingdom because of his strange behaviors so the people called him a freak. This with the amount of speckles over his body made the combination of freak and speckles which formed the term freckle. freak + speckle = freckle
Speckles is described as "crafty".
It can differ from deep brown with silver-gray speckles, but it can rand from yellowish or grayish brown to almost black
The speckles are probably just from wear-and-tear. In other words, you just need to clean up the back of the iPod. The speckles could possibly be indentations, which are permanent.
