Are you asking? Shouldn't as it should be connected to its own breaker. Unless you are TIG welding with a high frequency current. The computer class at our Voc School had to change rooms as we were TIG welding next door. Did a number on their computers.

How much current does a 240volt acdc stick welder draw?

The current drawn by a 240-volt AC/DC stick welder depends on its power rating, typically measured in amps. For example, if a welder has a power rating of 200 amps at 240 volts, it would draw about 200 amps. To calculate the current, you can use the formula: Current (Amps) = Power (Watts) / Voltage (Volts). Therefore, the specific current draw will vary based on the welder's specifications.

An arc welder provides 250 A of current when operating with a voltage of 40 V what is the power dissipated by this welder?

10,000 Watts

Will a 220v60hz welder work on 220v50hz current?

IT WILL WORK BUT will not have sufficient power

Can you install two 220v receptacles for a welder in two different areas of your shop on the same circuit?

Technically no. In the USA the NFPA electrical code requires a separate circuit for each large appliance receptacle- there are a few exceptions (such as a heater and AC on same circuit) - I don't think the welder is one of the exceptions. In practice, as long as only one receptacle is used at a time, it will work fine Make sure that the wire size is correct for the current (amp) draw. This is taken off of the welder nameplate. Size the breaker to protect the wire size. If more that one welder gets plugged in the breaker will trip.

How does current transformers in welding machines work?

The actual welding current may be greater than can be supplied from you electric panel. Therefore, the primary side of the welder may be supplied with 240 Volts at 30 Amps as an example or 7200 watts. In the welder if this was transformed to 120 volts at 60 Amps you would have more current and less voltage but essentially the same wattage with some losses. Therefore, you have transformed the current capacity at the welder head.

How do you calculate welding machine demand current?

To calculate the current you need to take theWatt rating of your welder and divide this by the voltage youhave setthe machine at- this gives the amperage. So for a 1440 watt welder running at 12v the current would be: 1440 watt/ 12v = 120 Amps

How do you unthaw frozen water main pipes under a driveway?

first you have to get someone with a portable welder commerical grade, attach the leads to the pipe , the welder guy should know how to do this , turn on the welder and the current will heat the pipe enough to thaw the pipe,

Can you plug a 230v welder into your household socket 240v?

its ok..i found out that it can be done, as long as its not turned up to use more than 130amp.:)

What does a welder get paid in the National Guard?

Pay is determined by rank and current duty status, not by occupation.

How big of a generator do you need to drive a 200 amp welder?

When you refer to a 200 amp welder you are talking about the output side of the welder. What you have to do is find out what the input voltage and current of the welder is to calculate the size of a generator needed to operate the welder.

If you have a spa that is 240V with 4 wires can you hook an extension cord from a 240V welder to it to see if it works if the cord only has three wires?

Well, maybe. What is the current rating on the spa circuit? What is the current rating on the welder? If the welder is larger than the outlet, then no. It must be the other way around. If the current ratings are OK, then yes. Your welder doesn't need 110V so it doesn't connext to neutral. Connect the hot leads to hot and ground to ground.
