It called for the removal of all American Indians from East of the Mississippi River to reservations in Oklahoma Territory.
With support of Andrew Jackson, congress did the Indian removal act of all Indians east of the Mississippi river. They were moved to Indian territory which is now modern day Oklahoma.
He moved the Indians to what is now Oklahoma, which is known as Indian territory

What they got was a forced march to the Oklahoma Territory, caused the Trail of Tears where many of the Cherokee died on the trek to the Oklahoma territory. It was a really bad move on Andrew Jackson's part our 7th President of the United States.
The Indian Removal Act led them on the Trail of Tears.
