However, all that he seems to have said was that Christians worship Jesus while Muslims do not and most Muslims agree that this is a major difference between themselves and Christians. Their major disagreement would have been his unspoken point which would be to say that because Muslims do not worship Jesus they are somehow worse off morally, politically, ethnically, or religiously. Understandably, if you tell somebody that their beliefs are less moral or less valid than yours, that will provoke resentment.
