There is more than one maker who made 1873 carbines. Which one are you talking about?
The 45/70 is best kept in the 0-150 yard range out of a lever gun.
Only for 45 55. I believe all trapdoors made from 1873 on were only 45/70 caliber
4570 g = 4570000 mg
There are 1000 millimetres in one metre. Therefore, 4570 millimetres is equal to 4570/1000 = 4.57 metres.

First, I wonder just how your family obtained this when it was new since they were all manufactured for the government. The standard catalog lists a rifle (32.5 inch barrel and full stock) at $200 in NRA Poor condition and $1250 in Excellent condition. A carbine (22 inch barrel and half stock) lists at $750 in Poor and $2500 in Excellent.
Maker and price
Assuming that milemmeters is really millimetres, 4570 mm = 4.57 metres.
