on their left shoulder :)
birds (parrots)
tradition
yes, they had pets sugh as birds(parrots) and dogs.
'Pieces of Eight, Pieces of Eight' as all the parrots say...
I rather doubt that real pirates with parrots ever taught them to say 'Polly wants a cracker'. More likely they would be taught blood-curdling oaths and other words not meant for delicate ears.
(1) They have them for their pets. (2) To send them to other ships. (3) To see if there is danger (4) Pirates are dumb, funny, stupid, and weird
Pirates sometimes used exotic animals like parrots as gifts or bribes for officials. Parrots were prized for their colorful plumage and ability to mimic human speech, making them valuable commodities for trade or bribery during the age of piracy.
you can find them in the northpole.no joke!
BEcause a cows too big and parrots can talk
It might be because most people are called polly or they think its unique Polly and Parrot.
What pirates?
Pirates - REAL pirates - did not. The actors who PRETEND to be pirates are, for the most part, emulating Long John Silver, the pirate character in Robert Louis Stevenson's adventure novel "Treasure Island", or Peter Pan's pirate character Smee. Which is where Disney's theme park ride "Islands of the Caribbean" got the notion.
