Were do plants get food from?

Plants most of the time have roots in the soil. These roots have root hairs and get mineral/salts + water from the soil. The xylem/phloem tubes in the plant transport these mineral/salts + water to different places of the plant.

So simply said: Plant get their food from the soil. And so it also depends if your soil is well fertilised etc.
