During WW II, there WAS a limited production of a German machine pistol made with a bent barrel to shoot around corners. It was or very limited success, and is pretty much a curiosity today.

It all depends on the model, Pellet size and power of the airgun. Most are capable of shooting small rodents and game. Like birds. However high end pellet rifles that are in the PCP class ( PreCharged Pneumatic) air rifles are capable of bringing down big game like a moose. These air guns & rifles can be charged to 3000 PSI and can fire a 50 Caliber pellet.

You will have to define the term "Sniper rifle". It could mean anything. The only TRUE sniper rifle is a rifle issued to a sniper. Who sells unusable rifles?

Unsure of your term "unusable rifles". At one time, rifles that were worn or unsafe for use had the firing pins removed, barrels plugged, and were designated as "drill rifles"- used to practice the manual of arms. Due to legal restraints, this is rarely done now. In the US, the Dept of Civilian Marksmanship has a few Drill Rifles for sale. Band supply companies also sell dummy rifles- used for marching bands, they look something like a rifle, but are not firearms, not capable of shooting, etc.

What is the difference between a gun used in the biathlon and a relgular gun?

Not sure what a regular gun is- but biathlon rifles are fairly heavy very accurate .22 caliber target rifles. They have precision made barrels and triggers, and sights that are designed for shooting at specific targets. They are not made for long range shooting, or hunting large animals. I shoot a similar rifle (but from a bench rest, not skis!)- those rifles are capable of shooting 5 bullets into one slightly ragged hole at 50 meters. However, I would not like to carry one all day when hunting- they are very heavy.
