The story of Noah and the Flood are in Genesis 5 & 6. In the New King James, Noah appears:
Gen:6:13: And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
There was no flood before Noah's time.

The Bible has a specific story.

The Holy Bible. It stated in the Bible that the Earth was a sphere long before humans realized it was. People chose not to believe, and it turns out that the Bible was right.
Just take a look at Genesis 6-9 to find that out. It actually gives his age very specifically. The Bible tells us he was 600 years old when he entered the ark. They lived way longer back before the flood!

The Bible does not give any indication of what Noah did as an occupation before the flood. It does refer to him as a 'preacher of righteousness', although most would not consider that this was his occupation full-time.
