The tip of the cable is square, and "pokes" out of the center of the front wheel hub on the drivers side of the bug. The hole that it pokes out of is square also, so that it doesn't slip while revolving. If you remove the driver's front wheel "moon" lug nut cover, you'll notice it right in the middle of the small "hub" cap. The tip of the cable is about the size of the square plastic white gauge on a tire pressure gauge (a little smaller). Be careful, some of them can easily be pushed on through, and out of the hole on the inside of the hubcap, if you push on it to far! Hope this helps.
