Under the center conlsol next to the hand brake
The 2001 Ford Focus transmission range sensor is located on the side of the transmission. The sensor will be on the left-hand side of the transmission.
it means your emergency brake, or hand brake is set. if the brake is released, check cables and sensor. could also be the switch or sensor.
Brake system uses push one buttons (hand brake and pedal) and I think there is one a sensor attached to the brake fluid canister. Also, you might have ABS sensors that are located at each wheel.
Maybe that means change the pad prehaps? If u have already done so then u need to put a new sensor on, they only have a sensor on the left hand side...

the speedometer on focuses is controlled electronically by a speed sensor located at the rear of the transmission on left hand side of car. it would appear you have a faulty sensor.
The P stands for Park. The Hand Brake is the brake you use while parked, hence why there is a P on it.
i think your refering to the BCM or Body Control Module. it's located behind the dash near the hand brake.
