No, women and men were not treated equally, but for the first time, it came close. People realized that women could do "men's work" and began giving them a slight amount of respect for it, however, at the end of the war, they were expected to go back to being good little house wives and let their husbands resume the jobs.

Why are women in prison treated differently than men in prison?

Women are often treated differently than men in the military because women have been viewed as the weaker sex for many years. This causes men to want to protect them rather than work with them equally.

Do men and women get treated the same?

I think that in some cases around the world that women are treated the same as men but in other cases around the world women aren't treated the same as men so they get treated differently. This is because in some countries and religions they believe or think that it isn't a women's duty to be able to do certain things like going to school to get an education to go to work or if they they go to work then them going to work for long hours during the day and not getting paid a lot of money. In some other countries and religions they believe or think that its a women's duty to be able to get a good education and get a job but not working lots of hours at a time and can work and get time off pretty much how much and when they like.

Were men and women treated equally at work in 1948?

No they were not. Men were paid more than women for the same work and women tended to be relegated to low paying jobs that were not valued, such as: housecleaners, cooks, waitresses, phone operators and hairdressers. It was much much harder for a woman to get a degree and when she did, she had a hard time finding work in a professional field, such as being a lawyer or doctor. Even in those fields, women were paid far less than their male counterparts.

Can woman and men be treated equally in the workforce?

Men make 15-20% more in wages have more free time and I think the amusing think I hear lately is men are assertive and women are classified as aggressive in identical circumstances.Gender inequality is men and women are treated differently in the workplace. For example, women may not be paid the same wages as men even when they both are working the same position.
