Although the POW camp at Andersonville, Georgia was the cruelest Confederate POW camp by far, Union camps were terrible too. As an aside, the commander of the Andersonville camp was the only person tried for war crimes and was hanged after the war. This is an indication of bad things were in that camp.
The South definitely came off worse - the entire city of Atlanta was burnt to the ground. There was only one notable battle fought in the North, and as such it did not suffer as much damage as the South did. No need to be mean.
The South want to keep slavery so badly because they wanted to be able to have work but they do not pay them, SO the South can make more money to buy more slaves, more lands, so they can pay their taxes. North did not like what the South didn't have to pay for their works. South depended on slavery to growth for their farms, their plantation to be good, If slavery did not happen South will have been worse.
Small and large that had one slave was about 11%- most had paid off what their owners had paid for them. The "company store" towns had more in worse condition than the slaves in the south.
Type your answer here... free factory workers were treated worse than slaves.
Worse- That could have been worse. Worst- That is the worst jacket I've ever seen!
The South was in worse shape, since they were defeated. Plus there was the Reconstruction Era which penalized the South and burdened them with additional bureaucracy.
worse.
State
Factory conditions in the North grew worse as the 20th Century became closer. There were no set safety rules, children were allowed to work the same hours as adults, and the pay was very low.
Jail. but it can also be worse even prison. stealing is wrong never do it.
Federal prison and/or worse.
A major event was the conflict between the North and South about how African Americans should be treated. The South thought they should be slaves while the North thought opposite. Fights began to go through and it got worse and worse until a war began.
state because they are full of shitsh Okay - I didn't write the above comment, but I agree to an extent. The feds have more money overall and their prisons are usually newer/better. State prison depends on the finances of the state (most of whom are broke right now!), so the conditions can be terrible. Also, the feds have a standard they have to conform to. States make their own standards.
a civil war the civil war was the north vs. south of one country
The percentage of criminals that say life in prison is worse than the death penalty is estimated to be above 60. It is quite tormenting to know that the rest of your life will be confined to the prison walls.
The North and the Czar. The North was worse. The poem illustrates how unforgiving the cold weather of the North is.
When I was a kid (say just a half century ago), there were still "white" and "colored" signs in Washington DC. 150 years ago it was even worse, and the farther south you went, the worse it got. If you were smart, you ran.
