Roman mythology and literature were strongly influenced by the Greeks. The Roman gods were linked to the Greek ones. The Romans adopted some Greek religious festivals. Roman architecture and sculpture were based on Greek models. Greek philosophy, especially stoicism, influenced the Romans. The Roman elite spoke Greek as well as Latin. They received a Greek education.
