No, the kalinagos were not really cannibals.....That was an invented theory by the non-Amerindians. (a further explanation will be given...please wait till i put in these further explanation)
the kalinagoes were referred to as cannibals by the Europeans because when Christopher Columbus's men went ashore the island of Dominica, it was said that they found human limbs scattered around the caribs settlement......the limbs were most likely animal limbs. most of the bones were human's own. they were found in pits in some huts. it was a tradition for their dead families to be burry there. they were in a sittin position and had their presious things thrown in the pit with them.
Kalinagos spoke a language called 'Cariban'. When the Europeans arrived, they bagan calling the Kalinagos by the name "Carib". They also conveyed the Caribs as warlike and cannibals, which was not the truth. The europeans did that in order to justify the unjust slaughter of the natives of the islands.

The Tainos were a peaceful Arawak people who inhabited the Caribbean islands, focusing on agriculture and fishing. In contrast, the Kalinagos (also known as Caribs) were a more warlike indigenous group who dominated the Lesser Antilles and relied on hunting and gathering. The Kalinagos were known for their fierce resistance to European colonization, while the Tainos were more open to interaction.
